Adobe Connect

Adobe Connect is a web browser-based desktop video conferencing and file sharing site that allows users to meet, share, and collaborate at a distance from their desktops. One of the key advantages of this system is that it demands very little of end-users: only an internet connection, a standard web browser, and a free Adobe plug-ins are required to participate in Adobe Connect meetings.

Several NIU Colleges and Departments have been using Adobe Connect for online teaching, faculty meetings, student recruitment, doctoral dissertation meetings, grant writing meetings, and even tutoring. It is important to note the difference between Adobe Connect and Blackboard Collaborate in that faculty and staff do not need to have a Blackboard course in order to host a meeting with Adobe Connect. Click here to host your Adobe Connect meeting. Your NIU login and password are all that is needed to access NIU's Adobe Connect and start your own virtual meeting.
