Responsibilities
As lead instructional designer for eLearning Services, Diane works with NIU faculty and other clients to develop online courses and interactive learning experiences. She manages projects through the different phases of the instructional design process, interacts with clients, and works with the team’s interface designers, multimedia specialists and programmers to develop online instructional materials that meet the client’s needs. Diane also serves as mentor to new instructional designers and graduate students and has been a leader in mapping team processes and developing job aids to streamline and standardize the team’s work.

Diane has been a member of the eLearning
Services
team since 1998. Her expertise includes
online course development, materials development, audio capture/editing, and the Blackboard learning management system. She has a passion for instructional design and has served as lead instructional designer on some of eLearning Services most significant projects including the Critical Choices LAAP/FIPSE grant project and the Foundations in Homeland Security and Disaster Preparedness course (see Project Picks).
Diane lives in Batavia with her husband Pete and 5-year old daughter Elizabeth. They enjoy traveling and spend much of their free time visiting family and checking out the zoo in each city they visit.
