Responsibilities

Jason works with NIU faculty and other clients in developing online courses and interactive learning experiences. He handles projects through the different phases of the instructional design process, interacts with clients, and works with the team’s interface designers, multimedia specialists, and programmers to develop online instructional materials that meet the client’s needs.  Jason also supports our collaborative software users and provides technical and research assistance to faculty and clients writing grants in partnership with eLearning.

 

Marathon JasonExpertise & Interests

Online course development, educational technology, game and simulation design, multimedia software design and development, instructional design, research methods, pedagogy.  Jason balances his eLearning adventures with a career as a firefighter/EMT for the Rochelle Fire Department.  Every third day, Jason spends his time worrying about sick people, burning furniture, chlorine leaks, and making sure the bathroom floors are clean.  To make life make sense, Jason also designs and conducts training, writesgrants, and develops technological solutions for problems at the firehouse.  This crossover also allows Jason to bring a little something extra to eLearning when working on projects such as homeland security and crisis intervention.
