As the Director of eLearning Services Aline provides leadership for the design and development of online courses for Northern Illinois University, P-20, and our continuing professional education partners. The focus of her position is to work closely with administration, faculty, and clients to provide instructional and technical advice in the development and support of quality online education experiences, grant development and research. This includes maintaining expertise in technology-based learning solutions, such as learning management systems, desktop video conferencing, games and simulations, virtual environments, and social networking.
Aline also services as the Co-Director of the Digital Convergence Lab where she provides leadership and management for the lab's initiatives including; summer camps, experiential learning projects, research and development.
Expertise & Interests
Aline has been part of the NIU community since 1979. In 1998 Aline took a leadership position in eLearning Services in order to help launch online education at NIU. Her background is in electronic media, web development, and educational technology. Her goal is to provide the NIU community with access to interactive technologies and training to help make NIU the first choice for our students.
Aline also presents regularly at conferences such as Distance Teaching and Learning Conference, SLOAN-C, AECT International Convention, and the Games Learning and Society Conference.

Using Actionscript, Ros's responsibility is to make Flash files function properly after the graphic designer finishes creating the interface. As a project lead, Ros has been working closely with faculty, giving them suggestions about which tools to use with their online courses. If needed, customization tools, such as web-based chat, drag and drop exercises, closed-caption and control bar, multiple player games, and journal tools can be created. Ros also records, edits, digitizes, and streams audio and video for online delivery.
